FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
CTI AND CARLING BRING COLOR CHANGING EFFECT TO MARKET
Chromic Technologies Inc. (CTI) and Coors Brewing Company in the U.K. have worked closely to get CTI’s special effect thermochromic ink on the Carling can and into the market.
Because CTI is a custom special effect ink and coatings manufacturer they were excited about the prospect of being able to get their thermochromic ink on one of the largest beer brands in the U.K. After lots of hard work CTI designed a thermochromic ink that passes all the rigid standards of a world class brand name like Carling has for its flagship product.
The ink was developed to be temperature sensitive, so when the Carling beer reaches optimal drinking temperature, the small printed beer image on the can turns blue.
This extreme new ink, which can now be seen on Carling cans in the U.K., is believed to be a first in the U.K. beer industry on a brand that commands so much market share. It is this new addition to the beer packaging industry that is getting David Preston, Coors Brewers’ director of marketing premium lagers, talking to Aluminum Association Inc. Preston stated, “Forty-two percent of U.K. retail sales of premium lagers are in cans, so it makes sense to offer this additional option.”
So, the next time you are ready to have a refreshing Carling, looking for the beer can image on the can when it turns blue – bottoms up!
CTI is a marketing and technology-driven company that offers the broadest of custom special effect ink in the industry world class thermochromic and photochromic inks.
